Sat with laptop awkwardly on lap with all doors shut on vehicle I have updated the drivers from ross's site When trying to "Test" via USB I get "Ross-Tech USB Interface Not Found!" "USB Library Version: 03.01.19" "Interface: Not Found!" Next I select "Options" and attempt to make a connection ("Test") through either COMS1-4 or USB.Īfter switching the port for the USBtoSerial cable in device manager I get this "Port Status: OK" "Interface: Not Found" Upon starting VCDS I get a prompt telling me that this is the "First use/No config files found" ![]() The cable generic cable I purchased has "OBD II" on it. I could then use the VCDS software to enable this option, and possibly others. After finding out that my dealer would not enable the 'convenience window' option here in the US due to it being a liability with the 'pinch factor' of children (or adults) getting their fingers/hands pinched in the windows I went out and bought a generic USB/Serial cable.Īfter doing a bit of research on both this forum and the Ross-tech website it appeared to me that all I would need is a link between my car and laptop.
